I think the posts from people that have had positive experiences likely had the money to pay a good portion of their membership and were able to immediately enjoy the benefits. I checked this org. My question is: If UVC and Apple are now affliated, why are we as UVC members not afforded the same kinds of seats as someone booking thru Apple and why are we not given better discounts.

So I would just suggest if you didn't read the information that was given to you or didn't understand it and didn't ask question that's shame on you but the other thing you need to realize is there's a reason you have pearl, silver, gold, gold plus, platinum and diamond and there's a reason they're priced at different price points if you buy a pearl membership you're not going to get the same benefits as a diamond or a platinum member it doesn't work that way again any other loyalty or reward club doesn't work that way why would this one be any different. They count on you being confused, tired, and drunk to go along with this. Because they wont meet you in an american court of law, there is next to nothing they can do if you stop paying.

I also think all the different websites you have to visit are confusing. did you check apples to apples The resorts are fine. Then I just got a call today that I was quoted wrong on all three phone calls and it will. Our hotel warned us before we left and I wish I would have listened. To my relief again, the price with the membership price is way cheaper than the travel agencies' ($140 @ Costa Rica Secret vs. 373 AND fees). I singed up for their membership for two reasons. The only downside is that you don't get any discounts on air fare - you still have to book flights on your own. I bought in the spring. Make sure you read all the info in your contract two or three times. It is a very nice resort, and you will have options to use other locations. Flexible vacation ownership with a silver membership!
When I balked and told them that most vacationers don't plan that far ahead, I was told that you do with RCI if you plan on getting a decent place to stay within a popular city. The UVC is a complete scam. The sales man even admitted to me its a bad deal and I should have never signed but not I'm stuck with it. So I would just suggest if you didn't read the information that was given to you or didn't understand it and didn't ask question that's shame on you but the other thing you need to realize is there's a reason you have pearl, silver, gold, gold plus, platinum and diamond and there's a reason they're priced at different price points if you buy a pearl membership you're not going to get the same benefits as a diamond or a platinum member it doesn't work that way again any other loyalty or reward club doesn't work that way why would this one be any different. They count on you being confused, tired, and drunk to go along with this. Because they wont meet you in an american court of law, there is next to nothing they can do if you stop paying.

The only downside is that you don't get any discounts on air fare - you still have to book flights on your own. I bought in the spring. When I balked and told them that most vacationers don't plan that far ahead, I was told that you do with RCI if you plan on getting a decent place to stay within a popular city. The UVC is a complete scam. The sales man even admitted to me its a bad deal and I should have never signed but not I'm stuck with it.
