It turns out this HID bulb is very expensive. My 2011 Dodge Charger had the po8 recall done in July of 2014 at about 48000 miles now at 94000 miles the same problem has occurred. I notice this happens in the cold weather especially. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. There is a clear defect in the alternators of these cars, its only a matter of time before someone is injured or killed. ( there was no warning that there was a problem, no warning lights were on. )

It's much cheaper to replace a $1.50 fuse than to replace the $68 HID bulb.

I was transferred to customer care who told me they would do nothing for me since the recalls were VIN specific. Changed the fuses and havent had a problem. Questions or comments? I believe the Dodge needs to expand their recall after all the customers experiencing issues with one sided headlight failure.

The low beam headlights do not provide enough light for safe driving at night. No signs of moisture in the headlamp assembly or faulty installation. I was unable to replicate the problem for several days. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness melted and needed to be replaced. I have had to have my car aligned 4 times in 9 months and bought 2 sets of tires because it will not keep the alignment. Ah. + tax as the problem is a voltage drop in the harness that was installed and not the original melted wiring that caused the po8 recall. Third time changing the light bulb and the wires for my headlight (low beam) and still having problems, few friends of mine have the same problem. Upon investigation, the alternator failed, shorting out the electrical system and killing/destroying the battery. Took it to the dealer, they replaced the light and of course the issue continued. Did not fix issue. I am apprehensive about driving on the freeway now. The dealership took out the security system and shortly thereafter the engine stalls began.
