The Horizon 6115 was a tad expensive at 85.00 I thought. So I got a "fine tuning head" for it (for sale section 18) and it's now brilliant. All we need now is some clear nights to get them binos out. That said, if you're going for a long observing session, consider pairing the Celestron Skymaster 15x70 with a good photographic tripod. I hold them at the end of the lenses. Sure, you can get 20x80 models something Celestron also manufactures but the Celestron Skymaster 15x70 are far later and can just about be held handheld.

Sometimes you have to raise the centre column to avoid the handle attached to the head hitting the legs, so is it possible to put the handle into different positions on the head? New York,

With 15 times magnification and 70mm objective lens diameter, these binoculars are perfect for deep sky observing. Works well with the 15x70's. Although this is the first tripod I have had, so I can't compare it to others, the Horizon seems to be very robustly constructed and has lots of adjustment dials / handles. Sometimes you have to raise the centre column to avoid the handle attached to the head hitting the legs, so is it possible to put the handle into different positions on the head? New York,

With 15 times magnification and 70mm objective lens diameter, these binoculars are perfect for deep sky observing. Works well with the 15x70's. Although this is the first tripod I have had, so I can't compare it to others, the Horizon seems to be very robustly constructed and has lots of adjustment dials / handles. Almost insanely affordable, we can see these large binoculars being purchased for occasional use, perhaps spending most of the year in a cupboard but being brought outside for special astronomical occasions.
