The fairways look In good shape but the recent rain means every ball is hit with some standing water, Off the fairways it's like a farmers field, bring plenty of balls as if you're 1yard offline and not in the fairway it's plugged and near impossible to find, disappointing for the price paid but I guess they can't help the weather. The course is reasonably hard in that there is a lot of walking from green to the next tee, and some par 4 holes were real testers from a distance point of view. This is a hidden gem nestled in the countryside just outside Manchester and I am very pleased to say its just a few miles from my home. Will be back when its dry to have another go though. 48 players had a great time over the 2 days 1st class great for all abilities will come again
Beverages and alcoholic drinks were horrendously expensive - unnecessarily so. Driving into the impressive Marriott Golf & Country club you immediately get a sense of t what you can expect on the course. Younger guests can let off steam in the children's playground. Spa of Senses welcomes you to indulge in true relaxation. Great, well kept course with some great challenges but also some easier holes to keep you engaged with your round. Quite open so can open them shoulders on the par 5s. The course was immaculate fairways and greens beautifully cut could not fault it at all. All the ladies in my group thought the hotel was first class with accommodation, the food, the staff, and the bonus of the hotel being just two minutes from the motorway. The natural undulations, trees and water make for particularly tricky obstacles, and there is no doubt that course management and strategy are the most valuable qualities for those seeking to compile a good score. Book with confidence we are the world's largest golf travel Guests can take a refreshing dip in the hotel's heated indoor swimming pool and relax on the sun terrace where sun loungers are laid out for use. Despite there having been a lot of rain prior to our playing on the Sunday,the course was in very good condition,off the Yellows,it played long but was a fair test for all our handicaps which ranged from 10-22.The greens were difficult to read and played particulary slow but that didn't deter from a very enjoyable weekend and we will certainly return in the future. An ironing set and heating are standard features in all accommodation. Cants fault the course or staff, we just had bad luck with the weather, made the few groups ahead slow down so was kept waiting. Banquet/VIP and conference facilities are available, as well as fax/photocopying and wireless Internet access (fees apply to the latter). What let the course down was the wetness of the fairways and rough absolutely sodden, so much so spent ages looking for plugged balls. The course is a challenge for the average player. Our British grill restaurant specialises in everything from old-school classics to globally inspired favourites and features craft beers to complement the menu. Hotel is top rate. It suited our wide range of playing abilities perfectly, with plenty of space for the lesser players but still testing for the better ones. For the better player this provides a great risk/reward hole. Faultless. Over all superb. Excellent value for money. Tempo is a favourite, popular for its superb breakfasts, and great sandwiches at lunchtime. Located on the cusp of Manchester, the Worsley Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club is built around a Victorian building, with the course being regarded as one of the finest inland courses in the North of England. Second day we didnt even get to play the course as they shut it. Hotel staff were excellent throughout the stay and seemed genuinely engaged and enjoying their work. Meals were not up to normal Marriott standard I think breakfast this was partly due to Covid restrictions. Really enjoyable experience. Hotel and staff were great. So all in all didnt really get to play as much golf as we wanted so came home Sunday afternoon disappointed. Staff all very pleasant - appeared to be a lot of young trainees. Excellent accommodation, staff very helpful, especially in the pros shop. Bar prices a little high, Every member of staff made us very welcome and the accommodation was excellent. I really enjoyed the course and will deffo be back in warmer dry conditions. Great location, super friendly staff and well staffed also. Excellent room, great buffet dinner and good breakfast buffet.
