Doesnt smell dated to me at all and even though its a rare wear and more of a nostalgia thing, when I do I wonder why I dont more often. After that lightens up, some playful floral and spicy notes can be detected.

It is said that a barrel of perfume abandoned in a courtyard in the open air and sunlight suddenly gave off an extraordinary and unexpected fragrance. I got more compliments from both men and women from wearing this scent than anything else and I still wear it and still get compliments. It's amazing. You can simply take the twink with confidence approach, which has allowed me to collect over 3 different compliments on this classic frag. People refer to it as unisex, but I don't think that's accurate; in my opinion, this is a brilliant men's smell.

An 80's Bruce Willis mowing the lawn in a crisp white t-shirt and Levis jeans. Many times they would ask me if i am wearing encre noire when im wearing Fahrenheit. I wore it the first day of fall. I can,t forgot Fahrenheit, I had 20 years ago, I love it its very strong.i would not recommend if some suffering from migraine and headache. This was the scent of the 90's. Between a quarter and a third of people are completely anosmic to ISO E and I am one of them. We'd spill gas on our hands, shoes, pants, etc. It's true. All best fragrance brothers and sisters. I respect it for what it is, but its definitely one for the collection rather than one for the office. It flirts with becoming unpleasantly sour, but it's well-balanced enough to stay just barely on the pleasant side. Reminds me of the violet candies I used to eat as a kid. Office safe if you aren't a sack of wet bread. Let that fragrance dry down on your wrist and you wont stop smelling it all day and night. Have lived under the proverbial rock for 20 years, as fragrances go. a classic. Not to mention I'm not really smelling things like nutmeg or mandarin orange. I found this scent to be repulsive. The mature and formal version of Sauvage. This is pure unadulterated alpha male SEX in a bottle. The more I wear it, the more I can understand and discern it's complexity. My girlfriend has covid and she can smell it so it's a good'en! It launched 33 years ago, but is not classic, A Modern fragrance that smells so good and very pleasant. Wore it when we went out to celebrate a buddies bday, I was sitting at the table and a girl walked by and so OH! In order to enhance the fragrance trail and also the longevity of the scent, try to complement its use with bath and body products from the same perfume range. It was practically unheard of for a woman to wear men's aftershave in the early 90s, but it was so intoxicating I just didn't care. The differences between this and the Le Parfum aren't as pronounced as thought they would be on my skin. Best price and brilliant service. It is strong stuff. At the moment, I'm mainly enjoying the interplay of sweet citrus notes (mandarin) and fresh violet notes on the woody Iso E Super base. This is such a strange fragrance and very surprising to me, considering its from Dior.
The peculiar blend of top and middle notes seem to induce a "gasoline" odor for the first hour or two. Thats why Im wearing it. Although they do not smell the same, Farenheit is in the same genre as Pegasus. Silage and longevity are superb too. I would say it still works just as well today as back then. Recommend highly. This was my first, This sounds interesting, no-look buy and it stunned me. Ill need a new bottle sooner than Id like, but its cheaper at Walmart than anywhere else so Ill bite the $50 bullet instead of overpaying for a large bottle online. I sprayed it onto my wrist at a retailer and could not get any gasoline. It smells fantastic, leathery, oily, floral, spicy and just, good. Acqua Di Gio? Alright, there's already a host of reviews for this fragrance, but as I don't see any mentioning one note I find especially prominent, I'll add yet another.
@Mystres du Chteau de D - Please read my post on 10/29/21 21:29. To be fair, it was about 8 sprays and a recent bottle from around 2014. Best bet: Pre-2009 batches. The jasmine in particular gives it this airy, ozonic vibe. Its strong, Leathery, and Spicy, with Complex notes. The smell of petrol and leather is real with this one. I guess its ok if ur into that type of scent. The base notes are almost non-existent throughout the drydown. A little goes a long way. If you're not wearing this in the summer, you're making a mistake. It smells amazing, lasts long, good projection and I really like the bottle too. Fragrance at its finest; I don't know the notes, but I can convey my feeling in all transparency; It gives me a feeling of gratitude and calmness; It gives me a feeling of softness and strength, just like the clothing of a butterfly in a house full of safety and plenty of abundance.
We both bought a bottle each, one for my dad and one for me. I hated this on the first spray as it was very strong and gave me a headache however ive grown the love the violet and slight citrus notes. Hard to explain, but it smells very natural, like you'd smell it off your dad, after he has cut the grass all day and worked on the car engine after. Condition: Not for casual wear for sure. Im so sick of reformulations for the sake of cutting corners to boost profit margin and cash grabbing to put out a parfum flanker. But this does it right. It becomes more enjoyable. Now I'm 40 and this is one of my favorite fall and winter scents. However it's not cloying because the cedar keeps things grounded and fresh. Fortunately, it dies down after about 30 minutes paving the way for a lovely smooth leather drydown for the remaining life of the fragrance. Definitely masculin, unfortunatly the smell litterally reminds me of melting tin with a soldering iron, a little bit of oil lubricant but toned down a bit with an aquatic note. Warm, spicy, and striking, we are talking about a signature scent that is truly distinctive. I gave it another try today though and this time around, my reaction was quite different. We never did get along but I did have some lurid fantasies about him. Enjoy. Not a blind buy. Bought this fragrance yesterday. You can say what you want about Dior Fahrenheit.. but it was ahaid of it's time when released! This is serious, quirky and heavy, better than mixing sweat, leather, gasoline, flowers and has an aphrodisiac load.

I often lurk Fragrantica to read reviews but I feel obligated to give my feedback about the latest 2020 batch of Dior Fahrenheit EDT. Then few minutes later, it changes to a different profile. Nothing floral in this fragrance but I did get a hint of fresh notes which was only for a mere second. It would evaporate and dry off but an odour remained wherever the gas contacted clothing. This cuts through. | I could wear this all year round, cuz it's fresh-spicy for the summer and kinda leathery woody and spicy for the cold weather. An absolute classic. I've been wearing fragrances for over 45 years and I only have a small collection, but when it comes to unsolicited compliments, this is the king. First ever decent scent I bought. An amazing beautiful scent I think its an all year around sent the only time I wouldnt wear this is there in a hot summer days. Dior Fahrenheit (1988) - violet leaf fougere - a classic masculine-marketed perfume by #michelalmairac and #jeanlouissieuzac that I grew up wearing and smelling. One of my top 3 fragrances ever. Dirty, musky, floral, green it's all of these. It still has the power to make people swoon regardless of gender or sexual preference. The mouth-watering Sicilia mandarin creates sparkling top notes that urge us to travel and amplify our minds. This fragrance makes me want to put on a leather biker jacket, drink a shot of whiskey, and slam the shot glass down hard. Which is INSANE but it gives you an idea how sharp the rest of it is that it needed that much softening. Gasoline, light spice, mild floral nuances, greenery, and leather. Easily one of the most evocative and arresting things my nose has ever encountered, Fahrenheit is also light-footed and quietly confident, sensually simmering on the skin. Might be the best of the best?
However, it is too a reinterpretation of the Fahrenheit narrative, bringing a refreshing lightness and pureness to the tale. This one opens up well with citrusy mandarin orange, lemon and floral notes of nutmeg flower, lavender, chamomile, hawthorn, bergamot and cedar.
Since then, I've worn it a few times. Instead I was getting more of a floral musky scent. The Fahrenheit signature is born. Citrus/lavender opening, followed immediately by prominent leather and violet leaf which remains for almost the entire durationand then finally an earthy patchouli with a good amount of Iso E Super .. the petro vibe is more emphasized in the recent formulations which probably resembles the original. My nose can't really pick up any of the other floral notes. The true Dior masterpiece is Fahrenheit. I definitely want this to be part of my collection. am i the only one that gets a "pickle juice" smell from this when first applied???? I suspect it was beastly before, in that '80s way- not subtle, and rebellious. It is one of the most unique en recognizable scents ever. Someone was wearing it then and I remember thinking that I loved this scent and that this is how I would want to smell when I grew up!

It is still fantastic. I find it odd and intriguing. I think anyone can pull it off honestly. There is nothing safe at Dior anymore (see what they did with Dior Homme Parfum). I really enjoy it and I love Fahrenheit EDT for Men and I'm so glad that I have this Masterpiece in my collection. It performs strong entire day at work. But personally, I find it rather odd or fetishistic. Truth be told, I was looking forward to return home and spray my new jacket with a generous dose of Davidoff by Davidoff, and turn it into my signature jacket soused in my then signature perfume. This is certainly an iconic name, but I couldn't have told you what it smelled like until now. Smells like a new car honestly. LOL) . Specifically, it smells like the old leather couch in my basement. Recommend this vendor A1.
I chose to do it bec I know someone from Dior is reading this site. (Not in a bad way, by any means). Fahrenheit is utter masterpiece and beyond brilliance. I grew up an 80s baby and remember smelling this everywhere. A man I absolutely disliked walked past my cubicle and I got up to follow this scent. Maybe it is some blend of florals or probably more likely an oily scent from oranges, since this fragrance has mandarine orange all throughout it. But i can still rock it everywhere except bedroom, that work for me. And at first, Farenheit is actually very floral - to the point that it could almost be a unisex scent!
It is so intense and masculine that the bottle calls me a wuss, if I reach for a lighter scent. So it makes a strong statement. Being honest, it is a bit polarising and I think it would take a certain amount of courage to wear it in public settings in 2021. You would see that I have sampled a recent batch and also a '91 batch. Fahrenheit was created by Jean-Louis Sieuzac and Michel Almairac. I went for 5 controlled sprays and I think that might have been overkill - six hours later I still have a strong scent bubble around me. So this really performs well. Notes are so perfectly blended in this bringing up the amazing feel throughout its life in varying phases. I got 2 compliments. Perfect! this is such a powerful scent that reflects masculinity and intense. This is a very unique and timeless classic in my opinion.

Negative and positive. It wasn't any one thing. It doesn't smell dated because it doesn't smell like anything else in that time period. Can't blind buy this, though I did and wore Fahrenheit around 10 years ago for the first time. When I read of people not smelling petrol or engine grease in this I start doubting reviews in general. Performance is very good( about 8 hours if you go heavy on the sprays and apply on clothing), even though it's an edt. Just picked up a100ml bottle and it takes me back in time to wearing leather jackets and being in the night life. It's not the nuclear bomb it used to be but still unique and sexy. Perhaps it was from a bad batch, but leaves me to wonder if the newer batches were rushed to market, or how badly IFRA standards have impacted newer formulations. This is masculinity in a bottle. I do have a vintage bottle from the 90s thats way more intense smelling than the newer one, ahhh reformulation. Very strong and long lasting. A masterpiece. Maybe I need to put it on skin. Spilled petrol that turns into an amazing fresh and woody leather fragrance. Where to even start with my love for Fahrenheit, it's my absolute favorite fragrance.
Meh, i think it is overpriced for what it delivers. The opening is going to take some getting used to; like I said, it is aggressive and unabashedly so. I usually review more feminine scents but this deserved a mention. The dry down is a big old leather note.

I didn't get the sharp note in the drydown this time around, however it smells overwhelmingly synthetic to me. My crush wore this in h.s. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a high quality and sexy smelling fragrance. Forget it. Still very sexy and unique tho. You can focus on these basenotes, including the leather and gasoline effect, but they are also making the freshness last longer. There really isn't anything else I can say about this scent that hasn't already been said, other than this is still around for a reasonit still kicks ass! Definitely pleasant and nice to the nose in a noncloying way, however it is pretty heavy and can be an easy dislike for some who do not prefer heavy dark notes. There have been other frags that remind me of it, then I smell it again and realize it's in its own world. Fahrenheit by Dior is a Aromatic Fougere fragrance for men. A gasoline soaked leather with faint classic undertones. Like doing greasy work in a workshop, tjen wash your hands afterwards with aquatic handsanitizer but cannot get rid of the greasy smell. But my recent bottle is a great scent to my nose, and in fact smells so good that I promoted it to my Fragrantica favorites shelf. I think its because both fragrances are loaded with iso e super. The Dior Fahrenheit Cologne follows, therefore, the same olfactory line keeping that recognizable temperament. Got a chance to try this on at Macy's the other day. Introduce it to your daily life as your selected fragrance, complementing it with bath products from the same range. No true comparison. The perfume version is also nice but the EDT is closest to the original. Man the stereotyping of this as a macho fragrance makes me cringe. Again, I'm left wondering why I didn't detect a gasoline note from the '91 bottle. Treat yourself to a vintage pre-2014 bottle ! In fact when it was popular hardly anyone used the term "gasoline" to describe it. Normally, you wouldn't want to smell gasoline but it's also weirdly captivating and you want to smell glimpses of this even though something in your brain tells you not to. Know more. This urges me to wear my biker jacket, drink a shot and be confident and harsh. The leather is not overwhelmed by florals or citruses (something I admit I find with Aramis Aramis). Yes, I do believe that Fahrenheit goes straight to the female brain and flips some kind of switch. Reminds of of Aramis Havana which for the money I would go for over this. A lady-magnet perfume? But as this was used by friend all the time I didn't want to use it for myself. I really still can't believe it. To me, it smells like a jar of chamomile infused honey was left open in a brand new car with leather interior, and that car was left to sit in the sun on a very hot day. Not sure this is wearable if you're under 25 unless you can truly pull off the dangerous, mature vibe that this gives off.
Transforms into spicy, clean, floral, leathery smell. Ten hours plus and projects magnificently. Versace Eros? moment of a new smell but it's chilling. The leather and the gasoline effect compliment each other, giving, at first, some 'tough/bad guy' vibes; think of leather jackets, dark alleys, baseball bats at the shoulder, chopper bikes, muscle cars, metal-frame and wood-grip guns, hard rock, heavy metal, the Terminator. The reviews had me expecting heavy gasoline/leather but what I got was something bright and intoxicating. If I spray on my hair, 8 hours of projection annd stays on my hair for more than 12 hours Leather, definitely present present as inside a tannery or an old west leather goods store. I enjoy Fahrenheit so much more than Sauvage.
I will grab a few back up bottles because I have the feeling that Fahrenheit will be reformulated soon and Fahrenheit Le Parfum will be discontinued (under the new in-house parfumer FK). Its a strong scent, very masculine, and can be a bit on the gas station side to my nose. Its a classic. One of my first colognes as a kid, and I think was my first cologne that was actually good and not a cheap fragrance monster. 
Way deeper and richer than Mercedes Benz For Men (I have not tried the intense). I didnt even know how to wear cologne then, hardly do now tbh. It needs elements amped up a bit to me. You get an almost petrol like smell and its great. A classic, one of the best and most unique fragrances to datethat opening gas smell grows on you but the magic happens in the mid and dry down, just incredible with hints of floral but still very masculinea good dose of masculine is what we need to put back out there for these younger generations imo. . The shower gel is a little soapy , but very strong !
