Very simple fragrance, but sometimes that all I need. I got about 3-4 hrs. Lots of people say that it's somewhat masculine and I would love to smell this on a guy but as a woman who finds vanillas sometime too sweet, synthetic or cloying, I can very much appreciate this well blended masterpiece. This is a kind of savory-herbaceous eucalyptus-like vanilla on my skin, vaguely unpleasant and stuffy while also reminding me of those "candies" your grandma used to give you that you found yucky as a kid but now somehow weirdly appreciate. My overall verdict is that I like it, but I am doing going to buy again. This has 0 projection, you have to use ur nose to dig the scent out of your skin. To me, this is purely a before bed fragrance to help relax and soothe. I agree with the reviewer below me that it reminds me of Guerlain's Spiriteuse Double Vanille, with less incense and more wood, which I presume comes from the juniper note. It wears close to the skin but sticks around like a soft veil of scent. Which makes a change from most vanilla scents: there really isn't much sweetness about this one, let alone an edible factor, and you'd need about a liter of it to make it overwhelming. I tried it, and it's nice. Especially the juniper/cardamom mixes very well with the vanilla. I know their is a EDP tried both but I didnt want it to be loud. I was so happy when a 6 year old and his dad came into my office and the first thing the little boy said to me after saying hello was you smell nice! even if fellow adults thought I smelled nice they may not tell me, so for a child to say that to me, it was a true and real compliment!!! Reminds me of Christmas-time. Iv the EDP for a couple days now and I like it a lot It smells great but the Performance for the price is ridiculous. A much lighter and brighter (almost citrusy or salty) version of the EDP. The opening is too sharp, peppery, and woody for my liking. Selling a 1.7oz of this.
It reminds me of a particular country store, but in a very appealing, still perfumey way. Zinging affect to the nostril. It's so interesting and evolves throughout the day, I always smell something different going on. So soft but still dances around you a little when you move around. Its so unbelievably beautiful to me. A comforting hug from an elegant woman or man you trust.
Eau Duelle transports me to my happy place every time. Ive only ever tried these two fragrances from diptyque; this has a much better longevity on me than Philosykos EDP does even though its an EDT, but I feel like this is missing something? It's gorgeous. Eau Duelle starts out with a blast of green spice, which quickly fades to a resinous pine. Not sure what the ingredient is, and I hate it when this happens! What can I say? Like a cozy fluffy blanket but a nice sophisticated one. This in the middle of the 2 mention, could be a layered effect if you have both. I think it's the best fragrance to spray on scarf in fall / winter which is gonna make it last forever. Really enjoying this more than I thought. I have the edp version and this one is a disgrace to the edp. I've heard of it being a good year-round vanilla; despite its heaviness, this is absolutely true. Its a linear scent but that boozy vanilla and cardamom play very well together. It is not heavy vanilla, but rather fresh vanilla.
It's so funny, I was just thinking yesterday that it would be cool to have a fragrance that smelled like burnt marshmallows, and this just so happened to be the fragrance I picked out of my samples to try today. I had tried it a while back, and wasn't really impressed..this time, I received it for my birthday, and I must say I am liking it a lot !! For me, its not love at first spray however I am very curious still about this scent. No sharp notes, just warm softspicy and beautiful. The sweetness calms down after about 1/2 hour, dialing the sillage down to soft, and the saffron and pine come to the surface. Sexy. A unique, sexy vanilla. Very sophisticated and mature yet soft and a little sweet. Eau Duelle opens very sharp & resinous on my skin, which then settles into a soft, clean, slightly boozy vanilla. It starts off with a nice, sharp black pepper opening and touches of a soft tea note and vanilla buried way far in the background then after like 20 minutes on my skin the vanilla takes over completely and I can smell nothing else, but that's ok cause it's one of the smoothest and the creamiest vanillas I've ever smelled that can almost put me to sleep hehe. When I buy niche fragrances with niche prices then the longevity must be great. But Its still too resiny-sweet for me. It is unisex, a bit more feminine on me. It is sophisticated and delicate, just like I want life to be. You know, I find it so interesting to get feedback on my perfumes from people who're not so much into it, like we are. This is a beautiful aromatic vanilla! This fragrance gets as close as you can possibly get to crossing the line into too sweet. At 4 sprays, this has a very, VERY soft sillage. The EDP is much much better. , NG, 2, 7/10. Inoffensive to most I would say (unless you're like me and have allergies!). It is warm, yes, but there is something in this that throws it off into furniture polish territory for me. One of my new favorites. I love this scent (Gypsy Water is too woody for my taste, so the addition of vanilla was perfect in theory), but within one hour it has become almost undetectable on my arm so unfortunately I can't justify the price for a full bottle. Also reminds me of old library book pages. Spicy, moody and mysterious vanilla. I think this one is very feminine but in a tough biker chick kind of way. A beautiful smoky and woody-green vanilla. Its has a fluffiness to it. 185 I might test the EDP or pass this one over altogether. Just lovely and fine. Mostly I smell the vanilla and the resins. Artfully crafted, its a delicious masterpiece. The texture of this actually reminds me of Van Cleef and Arpels-Orchidee Vanille, but this one is definitely very aromatic, green. I am a die hard gourmand scent wearer. Not because its bland or boringits not! Very longlasting yet an Eau de Toilette. Eau Duelle is no exception. But I agree it is also relaxing so I also wear it to bed! The main element that prevents the fragrance from taking a dry leathery direction is vanilla. The second time I picked up a dryer vanilla with pronounced ambergris. I pick up on a slight green note which could be the juniper, tea or even the bergamot which is citrus but all of those help cut through the heavy vanilla and resins. The dry down is smoother and more to my liking. And I found Eau Duelle it opens with Cardamom then the vanilla takes center stage I pick up the Elemi as well. I dont know why this just doesnt stay on my skin. I prefer Orchidee Vanille much more as I am not a big fan of aromatic vanilla. It's got that same tobacco chocolate thing like from a pipe smoker, and to me that makes it a more masculine scent. I really do like this scent but the performance is completely disappointing especially considering the price for a bottle - I think they charge around $90 for a 50ml bottle. I knew this wasn't going to be a monster but I can't even smelll the perfume myself maybe after one or two hours max, let alone other people knowing I have it on, and I can't justify its price. You get a pure unsweetened vanilla from start to finish. Cant pick out the scent when out in the open or in a busy venue. Then develops into soft spicy vanilla, its aromatic.
I think the EDP and EDT are the same but diffrent performance (oil). Delicious fragrance, warm and inviting. I like the overall tone of Eau Duelle, the warm spicy vanilla, but it definitely has a masculine edge, and that won't do for me..it has depth, warmth, This isnt your soft sweet vanilla, and to my nose more a cold weather scent..but the unisex vibe won't do for me..,still I enjoy the smell, just not something I would personally wear..it has a greenish twist too, must be the elemi, which isn't a note I favor much..like smoky greenoutdoorsy almost..Duelle implies the dual nature of this scent, as for me, strictly feminine does better . Wish it had more sillage but those who get close to you will be entranced! The more heat the more intense.
