Personally I find the choice of AAs very annoying in a light like this because it takes forever to recharge 6 AAs versus using just one or two #18650 Lithium Ion batteries which would have made a lot more sense for a light like this which deserves a remake using 18650s because of the added simplicity and runtime that battery type would lend to this cool light. The focus and brightness of this light is very powerful. Prospective purchaser should read ALL of the "con" messages in the previous reviews! Be warned, the 6 battery version when sealing the battery cap, will eat away at the negative end of the battery cap, it's ridiculously tight, so forget about using rechargeable batteries, it will eventually wear the metal contact plate out on the batteries.
