And it doesnt seem to matter whether my recipe is for a 2-pound or 5-pound batch of soapI use the same amount of infused oil, and I havent seen a difference in color in the final product.

Remember that soap-making oils like lard, shortening, cooking oils, etc., can cause grease fires, so dont leave your hot oil-herb mixture unattended for too long!
